Hi. I’m back from sabbatical and I think it’s time for me to re-engage with the online world. Oh, I’ve been online plenty these last few years, but I’ve not really all that “social” about it. Maybe I’ll tell you why sometime. Anyway, I know you’re out there and I want to interact with you. So, I’m transitioning my website to a different model, built around community. I’ll talk about it more as I go. But first…
It's Thurs Thanksday!
Hey, gratitude works wonders on humans. Just thinking of things you’re grateful for can change your attitude and possibly the attitudes of those around you (or maybe it just seems that way?). So, I want your comments. Just a simple sentence or so to say one thing you’re thankful for.
I’ll start (but I’ll do more than a sentence). Like I said, Carrie and I recently finished the four-week sabbatical that was extended to us by our church. We’ve never been off for four weeks in a row! It was truly a great experience. We had time to do things around the house, see family, reconnect with old friends we don’t get to see much, and just take it easy. Oh, we also enjoyed a trip to Cancun, Mexico for our 25th wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed the extra time together. And when you’ve been married 25 years and you and your spouse still like each other and want to spend more time together, that’s a good thing. Yay us! Plus, when your kids are happy to work at camp, or stay with family, or just take care of things (and themselves) around the house so you don’t have to worry about them while you’re gone, that’s a blessing too. OK friends, what have you got—big or small—to be thankful for today?
It’s hard to leave one sentence, but I am thankful for a God who truly is a refuge and strength, always there, always faithful showering me with steadfast love.
Thankful for my job, my generous living situation, and the infinite grace of God
